Events

Events

/IOTCONNECT™ Events allow you to subscribe to platform notifications and receive email alerts when specific actions occur. Enable event subscriptions and configure email recipients to stay informed about device lifecycle, firmware updates, and system changes.

Overview

Events in /IOTCONNECT™ provide a subscription-based notification system. When specific platform actions occur (device created, deleted, firmware updated, etc.), subscribed users receive email notifications automatically.

The Events section has two parts:

Subscription: Enable or disable event notifications for specific actions. Toggle subscriptions ON (green) to activate email delivery for that event type.

Notifications: View the history of all triggered notifications, including delivery status and event details.

Event subscriptions

Navigate to Events > Subscription to manage your event subscriptions. Events are organized by category:

Device Events

Bulk Devices Deleted: Triggered when multiple devices are deleted at once.

Device Acquired: Triggered when a device is acquired / claimed by an entity.

Device Created: Triggered when a new device is registered on the platform.

Device Deleted: Triggered when a device is removed from the platform.

Device Import: Triggered when devices are bulk imported via CSV.

Device Released: Triggered when a device is released from an entity.

Gateway Device Added: Triggered when a gateway device is created.

Gateway Device Deleted: Triggered when a gateway device is removed.

Firmware Events

Notifications for firmware upload, OTA deployment, and update status changes.

Master Events

Notifications for template changes, entity modifications, and platform configuration updates.

How to configure

Follow these steps to enable event subscriptions and configure email notifications:

Step 1: Navigate to Events > Subscription from the left menu.

Step 2: Expand the event category (Device, Firmware, Master) to see available events.

Step 3: Toggle the Subscription switch to ON (green) for the events you want to receive.

Step 4: Click the Edit (pencil) icon in the Action column to configure email recipients.

Step 5: Add email addresses of users who should receive notifications for this event.

Step 6: Save the configuration.

Once enabled, whenever the subscribed event occurs, all configured email recipients will receive an email notification with event details including timestamp, affected device / entity, and action performed.

Notifications history

Navigate to Events > Notifications to view the complete history of triggered event notifications. The notification list shows:

Event Name: Which event was triggered (e.g., Device Created, Device Deleted).

Timestamp: When the event occurred.

Details: Specific information about the event (device name, entity, user who performed the action).

Delivery Status: Whether the email notification was successfully sent to configured recipients.

ⓘ NOTE

Event subscriptions are company-level settings. When enabled, all configured email recipients receive notifications. Toggle subscriptions OFF to stop receiving emails for specific events without removing the email configuration.
